DLSU Dodgeball Rumble II

We'll have the pictures and the final formatting for this page up by Monday evening lol. As you could see during the awarding ceremonies we were quite drained and it will take a few days before our brains to go online again :-) In the meantime heres the results draft. If any of you would like to add something just drop us an e-mail ok?

We would like to thank everyone who made this event possible and helped us out throughout the day! The volunteer referees from the Kobras for making the jobs of our referees a lot easier. To the MC's, photographers and bascally all MES members and friends. Even to all the DLSU staff who helped us with the permits especially on tournament day ;D

To our sponsors 100 Plus Isotonic Sports Drink and Summit Water who kept all the participants fresh and ready to play their best. Dickies for a whole lot of Gift Certificates and for supporting the Campus Tour since last year! To our other sponsors who provided our staff with meals for throughout the day.

This is the second largest Dodgeball tournament we've ever had. 16 teams oficially joined after a few did'nt show up. We thought we would break our record and reach our goal of 200 participants. In terms of spectators, i'd say this holds the record.

Special mention to first time event organizers Sherwin and Dave. As far as Sporting events go, Dodgeball is one of the most challenging to pull off and they really rose up to the challenge.

Team Kamikaze took first place after almost losing in their semi final match to Team P10/HR when it went down to a 1 on 1 in the deciding game of their best of 3 match.

Last years Defending Champions the TankerOs took second place. They faced tough opposition from Team Saki in the eliminations to advance to the semis. Team Saki turned out to be Baseball Varsities! Quite a feat considering that, in dodgeball, baseball players are known to blow away their opponents with devastatingly accurate and powerful attacks. The TankerOs are made up DLSU varsity swimming team.

Third place goes went to Team Jabongga who we suspect were made up of Soccer Players. They advanced to the semifinals from the bracket of the Kobras.

The Dickies Most Creative Team Attire went to Team Jabongga because of their retro sporty attire.

We didnt bother to list down all the winners of the 100 Plus Last Men Standing... who turned out to be much more than we expected lol. Our rules need some fine tuning with regrds to this event. But nevertheless this was a fun event seeing as players kept playing long after we've told them to stop he he.

Top Female Player went to Ms. Tessa Alcantara of Team TankerAs who, finding herself alone facing 3 male opponents, was able to bring things down to a 1 on 1 after facing a lot of attacks.

FYI: The team TankerAs is the Second all female Team to join our tournaments. The first was the "Dodgebellas" who joined our debut event in UP Diliman. Man, that event holds the record for the most players too!

Last but not least we would like to give thanks to our Lord for his grace in granting us perfect weather for this outdoor event! For all our preparations we could not have done this event without him. It has been raining or drizzling hard the days before and it was sunny as hell the day after. In fact it drizzled hard immediately after we finished taking our equipment out!
